Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, HI, USA (July 16, 2016) Sergeant Nathan Miller is the Dive Non-Commissioned Officer for the Canadian Combat Dive Team from 4 Engineer Support Regiment (4 ESR) out of Gagetown, New Brunswick. He has been a Canadian Armed Forces member for more than ten years and currently deployed on Exercise Rim of the Pacific 2016 in Hawaii.
“We worked hard to prepare for RIMPAC,” said Miller. “We undertook intensive training prior to coming here and ensured that we are mentally, physically and medically fit for this exercise.”
“RIMPAC is great opportunity for us to enhance interoperability between combat divers and clearance divers as well as with our counterparts from other nations in the Pacific.”
Twenty-six nations, more than 40 ships and submarines, more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 30 to Aug. 4, in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. The world's largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity that helps participants foster and sustain the cooperative relationships that are critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world's oceans.
