(June 11, 2016) – USS Howard (DDG 83) is moored alongside USS Russell (DDG 59) to the Portland river front with Avenger-class mine countermeasures ship USS Champion moored behind the two Arleigh Burke-class destroyers for Rose Festival Fleet Week. The festival and Portland Fleet Week are a celebration of the sea services with Sailors, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen from the U.S. and Canada making the city a port of call.
