A military memorial ceremony is taking place outdoors near a stone church, likely in Normandy, France, based on architectural style. A German Bundeswehr soldier in flecktarn camouflage and red beret carries a wreath adorned with German national colors (black, red, gold) toward a memorial site. Several elderly veterans wearing military caps and medals are seated in the foreground, attended by U.S. soldiers in modern combat uniforms carrying an American flag.

German service members walk to lay a wreath at the memorial dedicated to Kenneth Moore and Robert Wright June 4, 2016, in Angoville-au-Plain, France. As medics with the 101st Airborne Division during World War II, Moore and Wright provided medical care to 80 combatants, including German soldiers, and one child in June 1944 at the Angoville-au-Plain church (seen in back). Their only stipulation to providing care was that weapons be left outside so as not to compromise the church's status as a noncombatant facility. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Timothy Moore)
