Malavet is the commanding general for Marine Corps Installations Pacific-Marine Corps Base Camp Butler, Japan. Hess is the commanding officer of 3rd Law Enforcement Battalion, III Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
