Bulgarian and U.S. armored vehicles prepare to uncoil from their tactical assemble area during a situational training exercise for Exercise Strike Back at Bulgaria’s Novo Selo Training Area April 19. Exercise Strike Back is a Bulgarian Armed Forces exercise that will certify the Bulgarian 38th Mechanized Battalion to respond to crisis operations while demonstrating the interoperability of the Armed Forces and Land Forces. The inclusion of soldiers from 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division helps build relationships between the two Armies while making sure they are able to fight as a combined force as a part of NATO.
