160308-N-DA434-050 WATERS NEAR GUAM (March 8, 2016) Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Chancellorsville (CG 62), left, and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) ships JS Harusame (DD102), center, and JS Kurama (DDH144), right, sail in formation to conduct an air-defense exercise as part of Multi Sail 2016. Multi Sail is a bilateral training exercise aimed at interoperability between the U.S. and Japanese forces. This exercise builds interoperability and benefits from realistic, shared training, enhancing our ability to work together to confront any contingency.
