Cpl. Nathaniel Hawkins, a percussionist with Marine Corps Band San Diego aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Calif., has a degree in percussion performance from the University of Northern Iowa and has been living his dream as a Marine and a professional musician for the last two years. The Musician Enlistment Option Program is an opportunity for talented musicians to become first and foremost a United States Marine as well as a member of one of the Marine Corps’ 10 world-renowned bands.
