SOUTH CHINA SEA (Feb. 25, 2016)- Culinary Specialist 3rd Class Kyle Dillard, assigned to amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48), shoots the .50-caliber machine gun while Gunner’s Mate Seaman Robert White, one of Ashland’s firearms instructors, performs safety officer duties during a small craft attack team (SCAT) live fire drill. Ashland is assigned to the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group (BHRARG) and is conducting a routine patrol in the 7th Fleet area of responsibility.
