SAN DIEGO (Jan. 19, 2016) Logistics Specialist 3rd Class Phillip Kuhn waves to a loved one while manning the rails aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS William P. Lawrence (DDG 110). William P. Lawrence, assigned to the John C. Stennis Carrier Strike Group, is part of the Great Green Fleet, a year-long initiative highlighting the Department of the Navy's efforts to transform its energy use to increase operational capability. Providing a combat-ready force to protect collective maritime interests, the John C.
