    2nd Marine Aircraft Wing

(Left) Sgt. Nathan Wood and Lance Cpl. Don Suger, both radar repairmen with Tactical Air Operations Center, Marine Air Control Squadron 2 Detachment, Marine Air Control Group 28, Marine Aircraft Group 40, Marine Expeditionary Brigade-Afghanistan, conduct maintenance checks on the AN/TPS-59 (v) 3 Ballistic Missile Defense Radar during a maintenance day. This radar allows the center to see aircraft up to 300 nautical miles away, information that is also relayed to commanders on the ground so they know what aircraft are above them.
