One of the radars used by the Tactical Air Operations Center, Marine Air Control Squadron 2 Detachment, Marine Air Control Group 28, Marine Aircraft Group 40, Marine Expeditionary Brigade-Afghanistan, is the AN/TPS-59 (v) 3 Ballistic Missile Defense Radar. This system provides coverage for 300 nautical miles, showing the center all air traffic in the area and is the largest radar system in the Marine Corps standing 30 feet tall.
