A military-variant CASE backhoe loader painted in desert tan/sand camouflage is actively moving earth at what appears to be a forward operating base or military construction site. The machine features an armored cab with blast-resistant windows, distinguishing it from civilian construction equipment. A second CASE machine is partially visible in the background to the right.

Spc. Leo Jewett, of Duluth, Minn., 317th Engineer Company, fills the Interim High-Mobility Engineer Excavator with another load of soil to be distributed throughout the ammo supply point on Victory Base Complex, Dec. 28. Soldiers from the 317th Eng. Company have been working at the ammo supply point to widen the front opening and improve the drainage system, resulting in a safer work place.
