SGT Cory Johnson from Sardis, Ohio, fires a Mark-19 40mm grenade launcher into a building in eastern Fallujah Nov. 9 after receiving sniper fire. Johnson, a cavalry scout, was deployed to Fallujah with the 1st Infantry Divisions 3rd Brigade Reconnaissance Troop and Task Force 2nd Battalion 2nd Infantry for Operation Al-Fajr, a joint operation with the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, to wrest control of the city back from insurgents.
