Private First Class Hayden R. Hansen, Platoon 3262, Mike Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, stands at parade rest prior to graduation at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Dec. 11. Hansen is a Rapid City, S.D., native and was recruited out of Recruiting Station Sioux Falls. Today, all males recruited from west of the Mississippi are trained at MCRD San Diego. The depot is responsible for training more than 16,000 recruits annually.
