Private First Class Tanner J. Olson, Platoon 3261, Mike Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, stands at parade rest prior to graduation at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Dec. 11. Olson is a Parker, Colo., native and was recruited out of Recruiting Station Denver. Today, all males recruited from west of the Mississippi are trained at MCRD San Diego. The depot is responsible for training more than 16,000 recruits annually.
