    Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa

    As several malaria microscopy students conduct a teach back, Hamid K. Pandu, a classmate, takes notes during classroom instruction in the National Reference Laboratory and Quality Assurance Training Center Nov. 25. Students prepare to eventually teach this course of instruction to fellow Tanzanian lab technicians. U.S. Africa Command, Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa, in cooperation with the U.S. Army Medical Research Unit-Kenya and their Kenyan partners, the Kenya Medical Research Institute, are conducting a medical engagement to provide a two week basic malaria microscopy training, Nov. 23 through Dec. 4, 2009, to medical laboratory technologists from Tanga Region, Tanzania. The U.S. President's Malaria Initiative-Tanzania is also facilitating the training.
