    8th Theater Sustainment Command

    Sgt. 1st Class Donaval Avila-Martinez of Headquarters and Headquarters Command, 130th Engineer Brigade, stands with his wife, Silvia Avila and, Capt. John Schlict and Kelly Albert, the wife of the 130th Engineer Brigade commander, Col. Blace Albert at the Na Koa volunteer award during the Na Koa Volunteer Recognition ceremony at the Nehelani Conference and Banquet Center, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, Oct. 28. He was recognized for contributing more than 500 hours of community service as a youth sports coach for the Child Youth Services sports league. The ceremony takes place quarterly to recognize individuals in the community who meet the criteria for outstanding volunteer service. The name Na Koa, which means the warriors, is significant to the installation’s Hawaiian heritage.
