INDIAN OCEAN (Oct. 31, 2015) A U.S. Marine with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Maritime Raid Force assesses a simulated casualty during a deck shoot aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2). The Marines simulated having a down shooter, using that shooter’s ammo to suppress fire, and dragging them out of the danger zone. The 15th MEU, embarked on the ships of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group, is deployed to maintain regional security in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt.
