U.S. Marine Corps 1st Sgt. Oranjel A. Leavy, 3rd Law Enforcement Battalion first sergeant, answers a question during an open discussion as a part of a staff sergeant indoctrination at Camp Schwab Theater, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 28, 2015. The indoctrination was intended to provide newly selected staff non-commissioned officers (SNCO) with basic knowledge and guidance to be successful as an SNCO. Senior enlisted Marines from various units in Japan provided the instruction and mentorship during the indoctrination. This was the first time a staff sergeant indoctrination was held on Okinawa.
