U.S. and international fellows take part in a negotiations exercise at the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies. The exercise was the capstone event of the Advanced Security Cooperation course (ASC 15-2) held Sept. 24 to Oct. 29. One-hundred-fourteen security practitioners from 42 nations and other entities increased their knowledge of security challenges in the Asia-Pacific region and learned how to work across cultural, language and political barriers to collaborate on identifying and resolving regional problems. ASC is designed to build cooperation among the Asia-Pacific's security practitioners in the interest of peace and stability.
