Former Marine WM. A. Wolf cuts a slice of cake for Lance Corporal Ian M. Martin, an artillery mechanic with Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force 26 during a cake cutting ceremony for the New York Fire Department in New York City, Nov. 6. Traditionally at Marine Corps birthday celebrations, the oldest Marine present will cut a piece of cake for the youngest, symbolizing the passing down of wisdom, traditions and experience to younger generations of Marines.
