151008-N-FO981-007 SAN DIEGO (Oct. 8, 2015) – Gas Turbine Systems Technician (Electrical) 3rd Class Calvin Neckel, assigned to the Supply department aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), organizes hazardous material by classification in a storage locker. America is currently undergoing a post-shakedown availability (PSA) in which the ship’s crew and assigned contractors make improvements to the ship’s design. America’s PSA will pave the way for future America-class amphibious assault ships. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist Seaman Jacob Holloway/Released)
