U.S. Army Soldiers are visited by the HOPE Animal-Assistance Crisis Response Team's stress relief dogs at the Joint Operations Center, S.C. Emergency Management Divsion in Columbia, S.C., during a statewide flood response, Oct. 11, 2015. Volunteers brought their dogs to give state responders a chance to relax for a few minutes as they worked on disaster relief projects across the state. The South Carolina National Guard has been activated to support state and county emergency management agencies and local first responders as historic flooding impacts counties statewide. There are 2,541 National Guard assets on the ground, which includes engineer support from neighboring North Carolina, and more than 40 State Guard members supporting state flood response efforts.
