US Army combat engineers train Iraqi army to use Bangalore torpedoes

A U.S. Army Soldier assigned to Bravo Company, 588th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, demonstrates how to use a Bangalore torpedo to a group of Iraqi soldiers at the Besmaya Range Complex, Iraq, Oct. 5, 2015. Bangalores are primarily used by engineers to destroy wire obstacles but can also be used to clear a path through a minefield. The class was designed to help the Iraqi soldiers become more confident and proficient with the explosives. Training at the build partner capacity sites is an integral part of Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve’s multinational effort to train Iraqi security force personnel to defeat the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.
