A U.S. Army CH-47 Chinook helicopter from the South Carolina National Guard's 2-238th General Support Aviation Battalion from Greenville, S.C., departs to assist in the repair of the Columbia Canal by placing more than 750 1,000-pound sand bags in the breach as the SCNG continues flood response operations from the SCNG's Army Aviation Support Facility at McEntire Joint National Guard Base, Oct. 7, 2015. The South Carolina National Guard has been activated to support state and county emergency management agencies and local first responders as historic flooding impacts counties statewide. Currently, more than 2,600 South Carolina National Guard members have been activated in response to the floods. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Senior Master Sgt. Edward Snyder/Released)
