Gen. Maj. Oleg Garchy (left), Head of combat and special training of the Main Directorate of the National Guard of Ukraine, awards a Ukrainian Independence Medal 3rd class to Sgt. Vincent Argese, a paratrooper with the U.S. Army's 173rd Airborne Brigade, for excellent service during training as part of Fearless Guardian Sept. 26, 2015, in Yavoriv, Ukraine. Garchy visited the International Peacekeeping and Security Center in Yavoriv to talk with guardsmen and paratroopers about training and award medals to the ones who contributed the most to the success of the mission. The paratroopers from the 173rd Abn. Bde. are in Ukraine for the third rotation to train Ukraine's newly-formed national guard as part of Fearless Guardian, which is scheduled to last through November.
