Rct. Mason C. Turner, Platoon 1089, Delta Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, swims 25 meters during basic water survival training Sept. 14, 2015, on Parris Island, S.C. Water survival qualification, one of seven graduation requirements, also includes leaping from a 10-foot tower, treading water for four minutes and shedding combat equipment underwater. Turner, 18, from Newton, Va., is scheduled to graduate Nov. 13, 2015.
