150911-N-JH668-127 SAN DIEGO (Sept. 11, 2015) – Capt. Michael W. Baze, commanding officer of the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), addresses both his crew and the crew of Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force helicopter destroyer JS Hyuga (DDH 181) about the events of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks during a picnic held for the Hyuga at Naval Base San Diego after the destroyer recently participated in Dawn Blitz 2015 (DB15). DB15 is a scenario-driven exercise designed to train the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps in operations expected of an amphibious task force while also building U.S. and coalition operational interoperability.
