A military formation ceremony is taking place on a flight line or tarmac, with soldiers in camouflage uniforms standing in organized ranks. Multiple unit guidons (flags) in blue and gold are being carried by color bearers. At least two AH-64 Apache attack helicopters are visible in the background, suggesting this is an Army aviation unit ceremony.

U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to the 4th Battalion, 501st Aviation Regiment, 1st Armored Division, known as Task Force Pistol, participate in a transfer of authority ceremony at Camp Taji, Iraq, Aug. 16, 2015. The TOA marks the end of the 4th Battalion’s time in Iraq and the beginning of the 3rd Squadron, 6th Cavalry Regiment’s deployment. During their nine-month deployment, Task Force Pistol flew several hundred flight hours per week, providing intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance support and transporting personnel and cargo in support of Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve.
