Command Sgt. Maj. Scott Peare, the former command sergeant major of the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division rides a horse from the 1st Cavalry Division’s Horse Detachment during a trail ride Aug. 5 at Fort Hood, Texas. Peare gathered all of the brigade’s command sergeants major to the detachment for a horse ride through a pasture before he relinquished his responsibilities later on that week.
