Four soldiers in U.S. Army MultiCam (OCP) uniforms are conducting a room-clearing operation inside a dilapidated building with heavily deteriorated walls. The soldiers are armed with M4-style carbines and wearing full combat gear including helmets, body armor, and knee pads. The building interior shows significant structural decay with peeling paint, debris on the floor, and broken tiles.

    U. S. paratroopers assigned to Bravo Troop, 5th Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, conduct room clearing during squad level training at Camp Taji, Iraq, Aug. 3, 2015. Coalition forces routinely practice what they plan to teach Iraqi soldiers prior to each round of instruction. Training at the building partner capacity sites is an integral part of Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve’s multinational effort to train Iraqi security force personnel to defeat the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. A coalition of regional and international nations have joined together to defeat ISIL and the threat they pose to Iraq, Syria, the region and the wider international community.
