Wersel points out a changes made to the Department of Veterans Affairs benefit and compensation handbook, which now outlines policy and entitlements for survivors of fallen service members. Wersel is the widow of Marine Corps Lt. Col. Richard Wersel, who died of heart complications one week after redeploying from Iraq in February 2005.
