INDIAN OCEAN (July 15, 2015) Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (fuel) 3rd Class Gregory Davis takes a sample of JP-5 fuel to ensure that it is clean, clear and bright (CCB) in the forward fuel pump room aboard Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2). Essex is the flagship for the Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and with embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
