During a 500 hour phase maintenance inspection on an AH-64D Apache attack helicopter, Spc David Reed, from Spokane, Wash., an Apache mechanic in Company B, 615th Aviation Support Battalion, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, Multi-National Division-Baghdad, works on the engine compartment of the helicopter, Sept. 21. During a 500 hour inspection, the aircraft is stripped of all major components and thoroughly inspected for any faults.
