A U.S. Army soldier named Ripoll sits at a round table in what appears to be a military recreation or dining facility. The image is taken with a fisheye lens, creating a wide-angle distortion effect. The soldier is in full OCP (Operational Camouflage Pattern) uniform and appears to be posing for a portrait-style photograph.

Sgt. Edgar Ripoll, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 23rd Quartermaster Brigade, recently completed the Special Forces Assessment and Selection training to become a U.S. Army Special Forces Soldier. The 31-year-old, who grew up watching war movies, is scheduled to start the next phase of Special Forces training within the next month. The training is more than 60 weeks in duration (depending on the language specialty taught) and is legendary in difficulty. Ripoll said he hopes to be selected for medical training and course completion. He later plans to become a physician assistant.
