Col. Matthew Lopez, commander of Marine Regimental Combat Team 9, introduces the Karmah education inspector to Col. Mark Stammer, commander of 1st Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division at the opening of the Karmah school for girls, Sept. 9, in Karmah, Iraq. Stammer's brigade of paratroopers is continuing the Marine's partnerships with Iraqi security forces, sheiks and local and provincial officials to ensure that school and water projects begun in Karmah continue to completion.
