U.S. Marines and Australian soldiers walk down from their observation post June 24 after a Fire Support Coordination Exercise at Bradshaw Training Area, Northern Territory, Australia. FSCEX is a bilateral exercise in which Marine and Australian forward observers direct fire from howitzers, mortars and AH-1 Cobra attack helicopters against mock targets. The MRF-D deployment enables Marines to more effectively train, exercise, and operate with their Australian partners, enhances regional security and builds the capacity to respond more rapidly to natural disasters and crises throughout the region. The Marines are with MRF-D. The Australian soldiers are with 8th/12th Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery, Australian Army, Australian Defence Force. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by SSgt. Jose O.
