Sgt. Maj. Robert L. Green, 18th sergeant major of the Marine Corps, entrusts the torch that will officially symbolize the opening of the 2015 Warrior Games to Army team co-captain Sgt. 1st Class Samantha Goldenstein. The symbolism affects a deeper meaning as Team Marine Corps had dominated the intra-service Paralympic styled competition since the games inception in 2010, however Team Army pulled an upset in 2014 taking home the Commander’s Cup as team top medalist. With Marine Corps Base Quantico playing host to the nearly 250 participating athletes representing six service teams including U.S. Special Operations Command and the British Armed Forces, the "friendly" rivalry between the two will prove interesting over the week-long span of events.
