Boatswain's Mate 2nd Class (BM2) Dyona Kincaid, of Navy Cargo Handling Battalion One, Williamsburg, Va., secures the F470, Combat Rubber Raiding Craft (CRRC) to be lifted and deployed from the USNS Spearhead (JHSV-1) for Fleet Experimentation (FLEX) period one. The FLEX Campaign portion of SPS-JHSV 15 examines the composition, transport, deployment and employment of mission enabling Adaptive Force Packages (AFPs) and associated command and control constructs and their ability to support various missions. U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command and U.S. 4th Fleet employ maritime forces in cooperative maritime security operations in order to maintain access, enhance interoperability and build enduring partnerships that foster regional security in the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility.
