A large military-painted (tan/desert camouflage) excavator or engineering vehicle labeled 'GRANTRON' has become severely stuck and tilted in a deep mud pit. At least one person in military-style clothing is visible on the left side, apparently attempting to assess or address the situation. The scene appears to be in an arid, Middle Eastern-style environment with sparse vegetation and structures visible in the background.

A 73,000 pound combat excavator sank about eight feet in the mud after hitting the water table as it was building a berm around the future site of Patrol Base Khanjar, Aug. 17. It took Marines several hours to free the mechanical giant from the spongy muck.
