DARWIN, NORTHERN TERRITORY, Australia — Lars Halvorsen announces the opening of the church May 15 after a renovation by U.S. Marines with Marine Rotational Force – Darwin and neighboring Australians. In honor of their hard work and expertise during the renovation, the Marines were invited to witness the grand opening of the church. MRF-D is the deployment of U.S. Marines to the Northern Territory, during which they will not only engage in bilateral training operations with the Australian Defence Force, but also aid in community projects to help strengthen relations with Australians throughout the region.
