Michael Gunther, commanding officer of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile cruiser USS McFaul (DDG 74), reviews Gas Turbine Systems Technician (Mechanical) 2nd Class Rober Nelson's check-in sheet at the command's indoctrination class. McFaul is independently deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, strike operations in Iraq and Syria as directed, maritime security operations and theatre security cooperation efforts in the region.
