Sgt. 1st Class (Army) AmyLouise Brown explains how she created an illustration currently on display at the National Museum of the Marine Corps (NMMC) to NMMC Public Affairs Officer (PAO) Gwenn Adams and Defense Information School PAO Joseph Coslett. Brown earned the distinction of having her work displayed in the museum after competing in the 2014 Department of Defense (DoD) Communicators of Excellence Awards (COE) and taking first place in the Illustration Category. Brown's work was one of 36 pieces selected from the COE winners to be displayed at NMMC in honor of Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day and Military Appreciation Month. A unique honor, this is the first time the DoD COE award winners have ever had their work on display in a national museum. Brown is from Apex, N.C. (U.S. Navy photo by Lt. Cmdr. Karen E.
