Most A-10 Thunderbolt's have the name of the base they are from written on the tail of the aircraft; this particular aircraft is from the 23rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Moody Air Force Base, Ga. Their wide combat radius and short takeoff and landing capability permit operations in and out of locations near front lines. They support coalition forces on a daily basis in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
