Brig. Gen. Richard Torres, deputy commander 80th Training Command (TASS), awards the Army Commendation Medal to Staff Sgt. William Fleming, a Utilities Equipment Repairer, assigned to C 3rd-399th, 800th Logistics Support Brigade, 80th Training Command, after Fleming’s induction into the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club during a ceremony at the command headquarters in Richmond, Va., April 17, 2015. SAMC candidates are formally recommended for membership based on their leadership abilities and for showing genuine concern for Soldiers and the Soldiers' families. The competitors then appear before a panel of senior NCOs for a painstaking verbal examination. The Sgt. Audie Murphy Club, named after the United States Military's most decorated veteran, is a private U.S. Army organization for enlisted noncommissioned officers that began at Fort Hood Texas in 1986.
