U.S. Army Master Sgt. Rodney Chiles, assigned to U.S. Army Pacific, answers questions from Barangay San Nicolas health workers during preventive disease training at a cooperative health engagement in Tapaz, Philippines, during Balikatan 2015, April 11. The engagement was held as part of a Joint Civil-Military Operations Task Force on the island of Panay for the exercise. Balikatan, which means “shoulder to shoulder” in Filipino, is an annual bilateral training exercise aimed at improving the ability of Philippine and U.S. military forces to work together during planning, contingency, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations.
