A convoy including the fire department and several sweeper trucks rinses and dries a section of the flightline following a rubber removal project on the runway April 4, 2015, at Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan. Airmen assigned to the 577th Expeditionary Prime Base Engineer Emergency Force Squadron forward deployed from Southwest Asia to remove the rubber build up on BAF’s flightline and ensure flying operations are carried out safely. At BAF, the Airmen remove rubber from 30,000 – 40,000 square feet of runway each day, and will cover a total of 382,000 square feet before redeploying. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt.
