    A candidate performs first aid techniques on a casualty during the U.S. Army Europe-sponsored Expert Field Medical Badge competition March 23 at the Vilseck Training Area. The EFMB is conferred on military personnel who successfully complete a battery of challenging physical and written tests that demonstrate their ability to perform medical tasks at the highest level in a hostile environment.
