Sgt. 1st Class Ralph Darland, an infantryman and jumpmaster with the 173rd Airborne Brigade, shows the proper way to safely deploy a door bundle out of an aircraft March 20 at Grafenwoehr Training Area, Germany. The demonstration was part of ‘Air University,’ a training event held by the 173rd Airborne March 19-20 to teach best practices for airborne operations to battalion leaders. The 173rd Airborne Brigade is the Army Contingency Response Force in Europe, providing ready forces across the U.S. European, Africa and Central Commands areas of responsibility.
