Command Sgt. Maj. Dennis Woods with the Center for Initial Military Training visited the 82nd Airborne Division Artillery Headquarters on Fort Bragg, Wednesday, to demonstrate the capabilities of his combat proven invention the M913 GELON, which backwards spells No Leg 319. The laser optic device was designed to enable M119 howitzers to conduct accurate direct fires during night time operations. Woods, named the 2003 Department of Defense’s inventor of the year, has spent his career improving artillery technology including night sights for the M777, and an Urban Assault Kits for the Paladin.
